The following degree courses are presently offered with details as shown below:

Eligibility

a) B.Sc Computer Science, B.C.A. (Bachelor of Computer Application)

A pass in 10 + 2 Level Science Course with Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Application or any other equivalent examinations. Commerce with infoatic Practice is also eligible for admission to B.C.A. course.

b) B. Com with Computer Application

‘An eligibility to higher studies’ in HSE or its equivalent with atleast one commerce subject is the eligibility condition for admission. Candidates who have not taken at least one commerce subject for plus two or an equivalent examination should get atleast at Plus Two total GPV of 24 (in 6 subjects) in Plus Two or an equivalent examination to become eligible to B.Com Course. A concession of 3 GPV will be given to those belonging to other Eligible Communities and OBC. The SC/ST candidates require only the minimum qualification in the Plus Two examination.

c) B.B.A. (Bachelor of Business Administration)

Candidates having an aggregate GPV of 27 in the Plus Two examination or an equivalent examination are eligible for admission. A concession of 3GPV in the total plus two GPV will be given to OBC and other eligible communities. SC/ST candidates require only the minimum qualification.

Mode of Selection

Selection of candidates for admission is made in accordance with the existing university rules and Government regulations.

Eligibility Certificate:

Candidates who have passed the qualifying examinations from the University / Boards outside the State of Kerala shall furnish along with the application a copy of the eligibility certificate obtained from the Calicut University.

Application Fo

Application fo together with the copy of prospectus can be had from the college / Infoation Office on all working days on payment of Rs.100/- either directly or by post against a D.D. for Rs.130/- in favour of the Principal, V. V. College of Science and Technolgy, Chullimada, Kanjikode, Palakkad – 678 621. Payable at SBT, Kanjikode. The Application fo filled in must reach the principal on or before the last date mentioned in the Application fo along with the copies of certificates.

Interview

Candidates provisionally selected for admission will be required to appear for an interview before the Principal on a specified date and time. Those who fail to turn up for the interview are likely to forfeit the chance of admission. No interview will be held unless his / her parent or guardian accompanies the candidates.

The following documents in original should be produced at the time of interview.

1. S.S.L.C Book
2. Mark list of the qualifying examination
3. Transfer certificate, Course and Conduct Certificate from the Institution last attended.
4. Eligibility certificate from the Calicut University by candidates who studied outside Kerala State.
5. Four stamp size photographs of the candidate.

Note : Candidates are advised to keep with them sufficient number of attested copies of certificates to be submitted to the college. Original certificates of the candidates admitted will be kept under the custody of the Principal

Enrolment:

A candidate selected for admission will be enrolled only after the payment of the 1st installment of fees along with all other fees. If a student leaves the college after enrolment, he / she will not eligible for refund of any of the fees paid.

Migration Certificate:

A student admitted to the college from other universities should produce a Migration Certificate at the earliest.

Scope of the Course

1&2) B.Sc Computer Science & B.Sc Electronics

These new subjects introduced by the University of Kerala, at the instance of University Grants Commission offer immense potential for professional as well as academic growth in the field of IT, MCA, MBA and MSc hardware and software programme.

3) B.Sc Biotechnology

It is one of the most promising fields for attaining self sufficiency in food production and for developing new drugs. It has immense opportunities for professional growth.

4) B.Com with Computer Application

Knowledge of computer application with commercial skills will make one eminently suitable for jobs in the banking and commercial sector.

5) B.Com with Tourism & Travel Management

Travel industry is one of the areas with lots and lots of job opportunities. Some of our student have already received campus recruitments. One pursuing this course need not wait for long to find a suitable job.

6) M.Com with Finance

This is another promising field for candidates seeking a career in the banking and commercial sector. As it is a newly introduced course it has its own advantages, both professional and academic.

Eligibility for Admission

I. Qualification generally required for admission to Degree Courses:-
A pass in the Plus Two / V.H.S.E. / T.H.S.E. / P.D.C. of the State or equivalent qualification approved by the University of Kerala.

Commerce group or other subject with a minimum of 45% of aggregate marks.
f) M.Com E-commerce Pass in B.Com degree with 45% marks

All courses except B.Com with Computer Application are semester courses

Candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from the University or Boards outside the state of Kerala should furnish along with the application a copy of the Eligibility Certificate obtained from the University of Kerala.

Migration Certificate

A student admitted to the College from other University should produce a Migration Certificate as early as possible.

A separate application should also be submitted for the purpose of getting admission in the management quota. The application fo is available for an additional payment of Rs.10/-

The duly filled-in application fo along with a self addressed post card should reach the Principal on or before the last date for submitting the application, along with copies of certificates, duly attested.

Interview

Candidates provisionally selected for admission will be required to appear for an interview before the Principal on a specified date and time. Those who fail to turn up for the interview will lose the chance of admission. No interview will be held unless the candidate is accompanied by his / her parent or guardian.

At the time of interview the candidate should produce the following documents

Course Details
Master of Computer Application (MCA) is a post graduate Degree Course consisting of six semesters for a period of 3 year duration, Sixth semester is mainly intended for project work.

Computer Lab
The Institute maintains a state of the art computer laboratory with A.C. and standby generator. There is all facility for each student to access a computer. In the first semester computer familiarisation sessions are specially conducted for students not exposed to computers.

Library
A large collection of books are prescribed by the University of Kerala and AICTE, New Delhi are available in the Library. The Institute also subscribe to a large number of journals and magazines on IT, which are highly useful for students.

Hostel Facilities
Hostel Facilities are available for girl students in the campus itself. The institute also helps boys to locate suitable hostel facilities, in case they need it.

College Bus
Conveyance is provided by the Institute by College Bus services from all major junctions within a radius of 10 Kms from the college touching Adoor, Enathu and Ezhamkulam.

Campus Recruitment
The Institute has already initiated steps to arrange campus interview for the students so as to provide them opportunities for prospective career. The placement cell in the college also offers counseling and career guidance for students.

Management / NRI Seats
Management and NRI seats shall directly be filled by Management. Such candidates need not sit for entrance examination. All students except management and NRI’s seeking admission for MCA Course to the institute shall invariably sit for the entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination, unless otherwise exempted.

Admission of students
Admission for MCA course will be made according to the criteria prescribed for the same by the University of Kerala and Commissioner of Entrance Examination

1 . For admission of students no donation will be receive
2. If any candidates leaves the institute after closure of admission, no refund of fees will be allowed. They shall be liable to pay the balance amount of tuition fees for the course along with a liquidated damage of Rs.30,000/-

Those candidates seeking admission to the Institute should submit a duly filled up application fo issued from the College office on payment of Rs.200/- by cash or by sending a request with D.D. for the amount of Rs.250/- in favour of Principal, KVVS Institute of Technology, payable at SBT, Parakode. Final admission of candidates to the institute will be subject to the scrutiny of records and certificates of the students.

Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from Universities other than Kerala should produce eligibility certificate from University of Kerala.
